In Loving Memory of Cruz Morín Gambóa
September 14, 1933 – August 11, 2025.

With heavy hearts, we share that Cruz Morin Gambóa, 91, of San Vicente, Mexico, passed away on August 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family at his home in Midland, Texas. He lived a long and blessed life, marked by his unwavering faith, deep love for his family, and a legacy of kindness and service.

Cruz was born on September 14, 1933, in San Vicente, Mexico, to Juan and Gabriela Gambóa. Cruz’s life reflected his strong commitment to his faith and his family. He found his greatest joy in serving the Lord and sharing that love with those around him. His devotion to his church and his unshakable faith shaped not only his own journey but touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Cruz had a heart that welcomed everyone. He deeply cherished his church family, finding purpose and fulfillment in worshiping and serving alongside them. The bonds he built within the congregation became as close as family. To Cruz, every member of his church was loved as if they were his own, and his faith and fellowship left a lasting imprint on the church he called home. His quiet strength, gentle spirit, and love for God were evident in the way he lived his life every single day.

He was a man who believed in the value of hard work, humility, and gratitude. His stories, wisdom, and warm laughter will be remembered fondly by all who spent time with him. Whether he was sharing a meal, offering words of encouragement, or simply sitting with a loved one in need, Cruz gave of himself wholeheartedly and without hesitation.

Cruz is survived by his two beloved children, Ramón Gambóa and his wife Christi, and Gabriella G. Franco and her husband Cesar. He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren: Jessica Jackson, Kayla Salazar, Amy Gambóa, Matthew Gambóa, Stephanie Leyva-Portillo, Justin Gonzales-Leyva, Cristina Gambóa, Samantha Gambóa, Philip Gambóa, Saul Gambóa Jr., Nick Gambóa, and Alex Gambóa. He was also blessed with 14 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his four brothers, Ventura, Bernardino, Angel, and Telesforo Gambóa, and one sister, Oralia Oñate.

He was welcomed into heaven by his wife Cristina, his sons Blas, Eddie, and Saul, his parents Juan and Gabriela, and his siblings Benina, Julia, Jesusita, Francisco, and Nastacio. While his passing leaves an unfillable void, the family takes comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his loved ones and resting in the presence of the Lord he so faithfully served.
