Their Story:
Kirby Babb tells us that his great grandfather William Isaac Babb ranched in what is now the Big Bend Ranch State Park.  "Bill Ike, as he was called, was the son of William "Cherokee Bill" Babb of Coryell County.  He came to West Texas after the Babb family was asked to leave the Coryell County.  I have been told Bill Ike at one time had 2,000 sections [acres? tracts? A section out there is a square mile; the King Ranch is 1,289 square miles.] in the bend.. he's buried in the little Babb cemetery in Langtry along with my great grandmother, my grandfather, and my parents.
