Eva Longoria Parker on Faces of America
Watch Eva tell about the tradition of "cascarones."
They tell about her family's history and experiences, many of which are shared with the Terlingüeños. We strongly recommend these video clips.
Our new page, Musica de Terlingua is intended to add to your sense of the Old Terlingua days by including the music they enjoyed. As promised, we start with
We have a new Recuerdo by Louisa Madrid that we thought was fitting to put on this page since it is about Lydia Mendoza performing in the Old Terlingua area.
Lydia Mendoza got her start singing with her family in the Plaza del Zacate in San Antonio. NPR has an audio memory of those days that you can hear here. Bob Wirt and Louisa Madrid have created Version 2 of their Briceño DR, and it has doubled the size of the report. We will have to catch up to them and update the Briceño family page with the new info.
We are very proud to present a document that is very well researched and documented on Francisco Briceño by Bob Wirt and Louisa Madrid.
Based on this documented report we have added a new name, "Briceño," to the familias of Terlingua.
Click on photos on this page to go to their page.
Bob Wirt has submitted a research report on Alvino Ybarra. It includes his family tree. It is very well documented. We will be publishing that soon.
Rogelio Baeza Ybarra has contacted us with more info on the Ybarra family. In addition to the input from Marcos Ybarra Mendoza and his mother Connie Mendoza, we will make a lot of updates this year to the Ybarra pages. And we have not forgotten about the promised Indian kidnapping story. Turns out there is a video of oral history on this. Keep checking back.
We want to recapture life in old Terlingua. So we present not just the family names, but photos, recipes, and stories. But music is also an important part of who these lifes were. We will be presenting some of the music that the people of Old Terlingua enjoyed. Your suggestions on future musical pieces and musicians are appreciated.

March 26 - This week Natividad Ybarra III and Louisa Madrid added comments to the Ybarra Family Discussion page. Based on those comments we added a new Family Page the Natividad Ybarra, Jr. page and updated the José Ybarra page. We also completed linking all Ybarra family pages to the Ybarra Family Tree page.
On this page, we also feature Eva Longoria talking about "cascarones," a tradition shared in Terlingua and link to a new event page Easter Cascarones page.
Link from there to a history of cascarones going all the way back to China. Read about cascarones in San Antonio, Texas at Fiesta and Easter time.
