Find your connection to Ponce de Leon
You can use the screen shot at the right from the FamilySearch.com site to search the FamilySearch site from Cosme Molinar's grandson's wife to Ponce de Leon.

Cosme's grandson, Diego de Molinar y Sapién's is the doorway to the far past.  He was born on August 30, 1676 in Valle de Allende, Chihuahua, Mexico (though, of course, it was New Spain then.) Diego was married three times and had 8 children by his first wife, 7 children by his second wife, and (lucky for us who descend from him) 9 children by his third wife María Theresa Cordero Domínguez including Antonio Eudovigio Molinar from whom the Terlingua descendants issue.

How to trace back using FamilySearch:

2. Go to María Theresa Cordero Domíguez's record at this link L6MR-LMN

Diego de Molinar y Sapién 1676–Deceased  •  LJ16-ZC5 Marriage: 20 AUG 1725)

3. On María's page click on the View Tree icon that looks like this:

4. From María Theresa go to her great grandmother María Juana Romo de Vivar Rangel.  To do this follow steps 1, 2, 3, and 4 shown in this image:

Note:  María Juana Romo de Vivar was born in Chihuahua in 1626. Her father Capitán Diego Miguel Romo de Vivar y Perez de Utiel was born in Spain in Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain in 1589.
5. Step 4 above takes you from María Juana Romo de Vivar to her father Capitán Diego Miguel Romo de Vivar y Perez de Utiel.  Then you go from Capitán Diego Miguel up to his paternal grandmother, Catalina Ponce de Leon y Fernandez de Castañeda L8BD-DST born about 1520 in Feria, Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain.

Catalina's father was the famous Capitán and 1st Governor of Puerto Rico
Juan Ponce de León y de Figueroa born 1474, died July 1521  •  KP99-TST
