Obituary for Gregorio Y. Chavarría
Gregorio Y. Chavarría, 86, of Fort Stockton, died Jan. 12, 2005 at his residence. A Prayer Service was held at 7 p.m., Jan. 14, at the Church of Christ with Rev. Harold Durham officiating. Burial was in East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton.
He was born Nov. 27, 1918, in Terlingua [La Coyota] to Juan and Cleotilde Chavarría.
He married his late wife, Trinidad Garcia on Aug. 18, 1942, in Alpine.
Chavarría was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one sister, Mauricia García.
Survivors include three sons, Greg Chavarría of Austin, Samuel Chavarría of Houston, Daniel Chavarría of Fort Stockton; two daughters, Consuelo Jáquez of Pecos, Amparo Almendárez of Fort Stockton; three brothers, Flavio, Ricardo and Felipe Chavarría of Fort Stockton; one sister, Anita Chavarría Gonzalez of Fort Stockton; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Stockton was in charge of arrangements.
