María Urquieta Molinar Obituary

Maria Urquieta Molinar
September 18, 1922 — October 31, 2023
Lived to the age of 101

Maria Concepcion Urquieta Molinar 101 passed away Tuesday October 31, 2023, at her residence.
She was born September 18, 1922, to Mauricia Martinez Urquieta and Juan Urquieta in Terlingua, Texas.
She went to school in Terlingua, Texas. She married Daniel Burgess Molinar on July 12, 1941, in Terlingua, Texas.
She worked as a motel housekeeper for a while but most of her years were spent working at home and raising her children.

What can you say? She was the Matriarch of the Molinar family. The love exemplified by her children! She filled her home with food and joy and accepted everyone. She lived 101 years on this earth. Proverbs 31:25 She is clothed with strength and splendor, and she looks to the future with confidence. The strength that woman had to persevere without the love of her life for over 29 years, live alone, and carry on the work of seeing this life through for the both of them is absolutely incredible. She lived a great life from the time she was born and raised in Terlingua to the time she fell asleep talking to her family the day before she passed. She was finally able to let go and on her terms. We wouldn't have expected anything less from her. We're happy she is finally at rest. She deserves to rest after all these years. We will continue to celebrate the memory of her and the love of her life. She can rest knowing she was greatly loved and will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her spouse,
her brothers, Anastacio Sanchez, Jose Maria Gutierrez, Vicente Urquieta,
her sisters, Andrea Villalva, Lucia Macias, Catalina Bermudez, Dolores "Lola" Rivera, and
her grandson Ryan Roman.
She is survived by
her daughters, Yolanda Roman, Elfida Fierro and husband, Sabas Fierro, Elia Roman and husband, Carlos Roman;
her sons, Daniel Molinar and wife, Dally Molinar, and Paz Molinar and wife, Tina Fuentes;
her sister, Hortencia Cordova;
grandchildren, Randy Roman, Rodney Roman and wife, Cynthia, Sabas Fierro, Jr., Debbie Fierro, Brent Fierro, Tami Roman, Aubree Valerio and husband, Norberto, Jon Roman and wife, Michelle, Dana Molinar, April Dominguez and husband, Sammy, Daniel Molinar, III and wife, Annette, Carrie Young and husband, Kramer, Erica Graves and husband, Greg, and Crystal Molinar;
29 great-grandchildren; and
9 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is set for Thursday November 2, 2023, from 1pm-9pm with a rosary at 7pm at Martinez Funeral Home chapel.
Mass is set for 10am Friday November 3, 2023, at St Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Carlos Rodriguez officiating.
Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery Odessa section.

Pallbearers are Randy Roman, Rodney Roman, Sabas Fierro, Jr., Jon Roman, Daniel Molinar, III, and Alfredo Sanchez.
Honorary pallbearers, Billy Villalva and with Cash Graves.
