Quintín A. Mendoza

María Flores
born Presidio County, Texas c. 1889
her mother was Savina [Sabina?] Flores

Married September 19, 1903 in Fort Davis

Their children: [did they have 13 children?]

Virginia born June 18, 1911; died May 2, 1936 in Alpine, Texas of ruptured appendix
married Marijil Rodríguez b. ca. 1908

Research Notes:
"Both of my grandfathers, Quintín Mendoza and Salomé Luján, lived and worked in the mines in the 1890's when they were young men.

"They both moved on, Quintín to Ft Davis and subsequently to Carlsbad in 1917 as an agriculture homesteader. In the early '30's, he sold his NM  farm and mineral rights to the potash developers, and he relocated to homestead in the Queen area as the only Mohair goat rancher in the state.

"Grandfather Salomé moved to the X Ranch in Kenter (Kent, Tex), where he worked as a chuck wagon cook until just before he died in 1943.

Grandfather Quintín passed away in 1961, and both are buried in the Santa Catalina cemetery in Carlsbad, a memory lane place, like Terlingua's cemetery."
