His Story: Alfonso attended a one-room school house in Texas. Alfonso went to work at the age of 16. He married Teresa Villanueva on Dec. 7, 1945, in Ft. Davis, Texas. Alfonso was a cement finisher and heavy equipment operator. He worked for Eddy County many years, where he retired in 1983. Alfonso enjoyed his hunting and camping trips. He also enjoyed cooking turkey and dressing and chile rellenos. Alfonso loved his horses, but he especially loved spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.(from his obituary)
