1. Voni, this is how you can make text and/or photos be side by side
From the ribbon at the top with the Weebly editor functions click on the first tab called Elements if it is not already highlighted in white. Then drag the icon labeled "Multiple Columns." Drop it right above the this section. After a moment or two it should look like the box right below. All elements you drag down will fit vertically. To make them go horizontally you have to use a Multiple Columns icon to create space for them to go next to each other. It defaults to two columns or boxes. If you mouse over (place the cursor on top of) anywhere on the two columns you it will show a blue line on top of them with a place on the upper left hand that allows you to make it be 3 columns or 4 or 5. To change the number of columns you move the cursor to the number you want and click on it.
2. Voni, this is how you enter text
From the ribbon at the top with the Weebly editor functions click on the first tab called Elements if it is not already highlighted in white. Then use your mouse to drag a "Paragraph" icon and drop it into one of the two boxes above that say in faded grey "Drag Elements here." It should take a moment or two while it creates software for that then it should say "Click here to edit." Then click on "Click here to edit" and you should be able to type anything you want.
Note that a blue strip drops down from the Elements ribbon with the icons to format text [ B I U A + - T etc.] Select some text you just typed then make it bigger with the + (plus sign) and change its color with the "A" underlined in red. You will find the + and the "A" formatting icons that drop down from the ribbon of Element icons. Play with it all to learn how they work. It is very similar to most word processing programs. |
3. Voni, this is how you add photos
From the ribbon for Elements click and hold down on the "Picture" icon to select it and drag it to the box above this one and drop it there.
When the icon changes to a blue background with "Click Here to Edit" click on it. This should result in a box opening up that will cover the middle of your screen. The box will have a green stripe that says "Click to upload a file from your computer." When you click on the green stripe, it will open a new window that will allow you to browse the files on your computer to select a JPG photo you want to upload. Once you select the photo, you will notice on the bottom right hand corner a rectangle that says OPEN. Click it to load the photo. After the photo appears you can mouse over (put the cursor on) the photo and a small red square will appear on the bottom right hand corner of the photo. You can drag that to make the photo larger or smaller. |

Marfa has developed a reputation for itself over the last several decades as a center of art that has to be taken seriously as a "destination." Josh has conceived a project to bring yet another perspective to this art scene. Josh and his friends Alison Kuo and Joshua Saunders have a project called "Marfita" that will install at Co-Lab artspace in Austin, TX on October 2011 an artistic representation of the artistic landscape of Marfa. They are in the process of raising funds to have this project
realized. We recommend that you watch their video below (rated X) and
visit their fundraising website.
You may make your pledge at the Kickstart fundraising website. This project will only be funded if at least $5,000 is pledged by Thursday Apr 7, 4:53pm EDT. If you pledge and their goal is not reached, you will not be charged for your pledge. Familias de Terlingua is proud to say we have contributed. |
