We have a most unusual connection that has resulted in us announcing a new family added to the Familias page and nine new family pages today.

Today we are announcing several exciting additions to Familias de Terlingua.
We are publishing a copyrighted Documented Research Report on the Marcos Ramírez Family with permission from Life Before the Ruins. It was a lot of work but Bob Wirt and Louisa Madrid finally completed their report on the Ramírez family. It required more research effort than usual. But it is worth it. The report and family tree for the Ramirez family are amazing to me. They take Rita Ramirez' side of the family back two more generations.
There are many among the readers of Familias de Terlingua who are descended from Severiano Chavarria and Rita Ramírez born May 22, 1859. We had her parents but no siblings and that was all. But with the new research by Bob Wirt and Louisa Madrid we now have added ten brothers and sisters for Rita to the Luis Ramírez page. Rita's father, Luis Ramírez was born circa 1825 in Texas. So Luis was born in Texas when Texas was part of Mexico. Luis did not come to the U.S., the U.S. came to him. He was about eleven years old when the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed on March 2, 1836. The Texas Revolution ended on April 21, 1836. Luis was about twenty years old, when Texas became part of the United States on 29 Dec 1845.
But that is not all. We added a page for the father of Luis, Ireneo Ramírez, who was born in 1802, the second year Thomas Jefferson was president of the United States. Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the US. Ireneo's first wife was Dorotea Lugo.
But that is not all. We can go even further back. We added a page for Ireneo's father, Marcos Ramírez. We don't have the dates for his birth, but he married Jesús Aguilar and their first-born child was Juana María Ramírez born in 1794 when George Washington was president of the United States. If Marcos Ramírez was 18 when his first child was born (which we don't know but is a reasonable possibility) he might have been born in 1776, the same year as the colonies of England in the New World signed the Declaration of Independence on the Fourth of July.
So, in summary, we
1) added the Documented Research Report on the Ramírez Family by Bob Wirt and Louisa Madrid;
2) completed the family for Luis Ramírez and Dominga Leyva;
3) added a family page for Ireneo Ramírez and Dorotea Lugo and second wife, Elena Viscaino;
4) added a family page for Marcos Ramírez
